With this trick slippery shoes will be a thing of the past!
Everyone’s familiar with this problem: you’ve just bought a great new pair of shoes but you keep slipping because of those smooth soles. This can be a true challenge when you’re out for a walk on a winter’s day, because how do you get where you’re going without falling over at least once? Luckily, we’ve got a handy trick that will make your soles a bit more rough.
This way, you can safely walk outside even in winter!
Sandpaper
When the surface you’re walking on has become slippery with snow, ice or rain, chances are you’ll slip. If you’re wearing shoes with smooth soles as well, suddenly every surface is an ice rink. This isn’t just annoying; it can also be quite dangerous! Fortunately, there’s a very easy way to make sure your shoes are much less slippery on the bottom. All you need is some sandpaper, preferably with a soft grit.
This is how to do it:
Thoroughly clean the sole of your shoe with a brush and a wet cloth if needed. Pay attention, though: if you use a wet cloth, you should let the soles dry completely before using the sandpaper. When your shoes are clean and dry, place them upside down on a flat surface. Take the sandpaper and rub it on the sole of the shoe. It’s important to do this gently and to not add too much pressure; you don’t want to damage your shoes. Try out your freshly sanded shoes and repeat the process if needed.
