Do you recognise everyone?

Most of the Harry Potter stars were still at the start of their teenage years when they got a role in the first film of this magical series. A lot of years have gone by since then, and (hold on to your hats) it’s already been seven years since the last film came out: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. The actors have changed quite a bit throughout the years. This is what they look like now!

The first Harry Potter film came out 17 years ago.

Daniel Radcliffe – Harry Potter

We expect Daniel Radcliffe, who had the lead role in the films, will probably be called ‘Harry’ quite a bit when he’s out and about. That’s not that strange, because the Harry Potter films are still the most prominent on his resume (this will probably never change). He has been successful since Harry Potter, and has had quite a few roles in other films, like Swiss Army Man and Now You See Me 2.

Emma Watson – Hermione Granger

The role of Hermione Granger brought her to fame, but Emma Watson has managed to break free from her Harry Potter image. She’s had a number of successful acting jobs in films like Beauty and the Beast, The Circle and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. She’s also a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and is a very active advocate for gender equality.

Rupert Grint – Ron Weasley

A lot of fans find it difficult to see Rupert Grint as a separate entity from Ron Weasley. He hasn’t had a true success in a film role since the Harry Potter film era ended. But, what hasn’t happened can still come. He’s had several lead roles in TV series and you’ll be able to see him as Inspector Crome in The ABC Murders later this year.
