What’s wrong with these baby names?

When you’re pregnant there are loads of things to take care of and prepare, some more pressing and important than others. Choosing a baby name is among those tasks that most people will like to be done with in time. You have to have at least a couple of possible baby names when the big day arrives.

It can be pretty difficult to pick a name, though.

Advice
Choosing the perfect name for your baby can be a long and difficult process involving baby name books, endlessly searching baby name websites and brainstorming together. Asking for advice from friends and family can be very helpful as well, but it can also make things even more complex. A survey by Mumsnet and its sister site Gransnet reveals that prospective parents and grandparents sometimes have very different opinions about the naming process.

One in five
More than 2,000 parents and grandparents participated in the survey, and it turns out that a fifth of grandparents hate or have hated their grandchildren’s names! Out of the parents themselves, one in six said that they either have a parent or an in-law who doesn’t like their baby’s name. These differences of opinions have actually caused rows or tensions within families in some cases! Mumsnet refers to this as the “baby name wars”.

Surprising
So, what are the names that are least popular with grandparents? We thought some of these names are really surprising! It turns out that many grandparents dislike trendy, unconventional names. On the other hand, there also seems to be a pretty big group of grandparents that think some more old-fashioned names don’t suit their grandkids. Take a look for yourself at the lists below.
