Can’t find a lid for your pan? This simple trick works great too

Baking tray

Here’s what you do to make sure your baking tray is squeaky clean again. Fill your sink or a big bowl or bucket that fits your baking tray with hot water. Add half a cup of white vinegar and half a cup of baking soda to this and place your dirty baking tray in the water. If your tray has some particularly stubborn stains or caked on food, you can also sprinkle some baking soda directly onto the baking tray and pour the vinegar over it. Add hot water to this and leave it to soak for half an hour.

Cleaning

Leave your baking tray to soak for half an hour. Next, grab a scouring sponge and scrub the baking tray clean. Through the help of the fizzing water, the caked on stains will disappear pretty quickly. Rinse the baking tray with some water and mild dish soap and dry it with an old tea towel. Flush the water away through the sink: it’ll clean and degrease the pipes as it goes down.

Oven

Do you want to clean your entire oven while you’re busy with the baking tray anyway? Mix equal parts baking soda, vinegar and warm water in an oven-proof bowl. Use a sponge to rub a little bit of the mixture onto the dirtiest parts of the oven, like the bottom. Then, place the bowl with the mixture in the middle of the oven and turn this on for 45 minutes at 100 °C. Let the oven cool down a little bit after this and you’ll be able to easily wipe away all of the grease.
