Keep your cat out of your Christmas tree with these tips!
Christmas is getting closer and closer and most of us will probably have put up our Christmas trees by now. Unfortunately, all cat owners will be familiar with the struggle of having to keep your cat away from the shininess of your Christmas tree…
You’re not the only who loves that tree. It’s super fascinating to your cat and he’s probably found his new favourite toy!
Playing in the tree
Cats love to push over your tree, baubles and all. And while they might be having fun, it’ll be less of a fun time for you! You’ll be left with a mess to clean up and it’s such a waste as well; both of your tree and your cat’s ‘education’. They should be learning that they’re not allowed to touch the tree, of course. We’ve got a few tips that’ll teach them to stay far away from it!
This is what you need:
- Citrus fruit peel
- Vinegar
- Water
- Spray bottle
This is how to do it:
You can easily keep cats away from your Christmas tree by placing some citrus fruit peel (like orange peel) under the tree. We’ll guarantee your cat will stay away from it, because cats don’t like the smell of citrus. They also hate vinegar. That’s why it can help to fill a spray bottle with water and a generous splash of vinegar. When you spray this on the branches of your tree, your cat will think twice before jumping into it!
