5. Putting together furniture
Whether you’re an experienced handyman or have two left hands, starting screws into pieces of furniture can be difficult. You can make it easier for yourself by rubbing the screw with soap. That way, it’ll slide into the wood much easier.
6. Freshen up closets, cars and suitcases
Wrap up a bar of soap in some cloth and place it in your closet, car or suitcase. The soap will make all the musty smells disappear and it will spread a lovely fresh smell!
7. Protect furniture against pets
We don’t like the taste of soap and neither do our pets. By rubbing a bar of soap onto the legs of your tables and chairs, your pets will stay away from your furniture. That way, they won’t leave teeth and nail marks on the wood.
8. Locate leakages
Got a leak in your bicycle tire or your inflatable pool but are you unable to find it? Wetten a bar of soap and rub this onto the spot you think the leak might be. When you’ve reached the leak, air bubbles will rise!
9. Make your own fabric softener
Mix together soda, borax and soap and you’ve got your own fabric softener. It’s that easy!
