It doesn’t have to be because you’re hungry
Sometimes it already starts halfway through the morning and sometimes it stays away until lunch time; a growling stomach. It might just be the most annoying sound a body can make. You’ve got no control over it and it always sounds so dramatic.
This is what your stomach is trying to tell you.
Hungry
When your stomach is growling, it’s trying to process the very last nutrients it contains at that moment. It’s desperately trying to squeeze out every last ounce. The growling sound you hear is the sound of gastric juices and gasses being moved because your stomach is contracting. The fun part for you is that it means you’re allowed to eat again!
Other causes
Is your stomach growling way more often than just when you’re hungry? Then it might be caused by one of the following things:
- You’re following a strict diet and the fact that you’re eating less has upset your digestion.
- You drink soft drinks. The mixture of gas and air can cause the growling noise.
- A food intolerance can also be the cause. Lactose is a well-known culprit because it can cause extra gas and bubbles.
- Gastric ulcers, too, can cause the growling. Ulcers often come with pain and other discomforts.
