It can happen quite easily, so it’s important that you know what you can do to prevent it. With these tips, you’ll keep your head cool and avoid sunstroke.

And we’ll also give you some tips on what to do when you do get overheated.

What is sunstroke?

Sunstroke is a heat illness that can occur when your body gets overheated due to a deficiency in moisture. On a hot day, you obviously feel hot as well and you’ll start to sweat and pant. Your sweat will evaporate and this will cool you down. However, if you lose a lot of moisture because you don’t drink enough water, there is nothing left to evaporate. Your body temperature will rise and you will have more trouble to maintain your blood pressure. This often leads to dizziness, headache and muscle pain. You can also start to feel unwell and feel like you’re going to faint.
