Trick
On this page, we’ll tell you what this trick entails. It’s very easy and you’ll only need a few things, most of which you already have in your kitchen cupboard. Make sure you use white vinegar!
What do you need?
- white vinegar
- water
- large bowl
- paper towels
- colander
This is how it works:
- Take the bowl and fill it with half a glass of white vinegar and one glass of water.
- Add the strawberries to the bowl of water and vinegar and leave them to soak for a couple of minutes. The vinegar will make sure any mould spores and bacteria will disappear from the strawberry. These mould spores are what causes the strawberries to become soft and mouldy so quickly. The water will change colour pretty quickly because of these mould spores coming loose.
- Place a paper towel at the bottom of your colander. Take the strawberries out of the bowl and put them in the colander. Leave them to dry completely.
- Place a clean paper towel in your fridge and then place the strawberries on there.
They will remain fresh for much longer! And don’t worry, they won’t taste sour because of the vinegar after using this trick. They’ll still taste the same!
