Tomato slices can have an amazing effect on your skin!

Tomatoes; we love them. They’re delicious in a salad, on a sandwich or on a pizza. Tomatoes are very healthy for you in terms of nutrition, but we had no idea they’re very beneficial for external use as well! Rubbing a slice of this vegetable on your face can do wonders for your skin.

Say goodbye to acne and hello to tomatoes!

Pores

Tomatoes contain a lot of vitamins, like vitamin A, B6, C, E and K. These vitamins are very nourishing for your skin and help to shrink pores. The acidity of the tomato can help to restore the pH balance in your skin, which will help keep your pores clear. Tomatoes also contains salicylic acid, which is an enzyme that is used in tons of creams and lotions meant to combat acne. So, tomato is really an essential part of your skin care routine; it cleans up your face and helps reduce scars.

Methods

Tomatoes can be very effective when it comes to both light and heavy acne and also scars left by pimples. We’ve got two methods that both work like a charm:

  • Tomato slices: This is the simplest and quickest method. All you need to do is cut a tomato in slices and rub these slices on your face. Lightly massage the juice of the vegetable in your skin in a circular motion. Now wait for about 10 minutes before rinsing your face with cool water.
  • Face mask: If you have a little more time, you can also make yourself a fresh face mask. Mix pureed tomato with two tablespoons of plain yogurt. Apply to your face as a face mask and leave it on for about 15 minutes before rinsing it off. The mixture is very gentle, so you can use it every day. Do make sure to make the mixture right before use, though, since you’re using all fresh ingredients.
