How often do you wash your denim jeans? THIS is how often you should be doing it!

You definitely shouldn’t wash your denim jeans too often!

It remains a difficult conundrum: how often should you wash your jeans? Washing them too often isn’t good for the quality of the denim, but dirt isn’t good for them either.

So, how often should you really be washing your jeans?

Freezer
Some people regularly wash their jeans, while others put them in the freezer. But what’s the best way to keep them looking pretty for as long as possible? Unfortunately, putting them in the freezer doesn’t help. The cold will stop bacteria from multiplying, but they won’t die. That means freezing your jeans doesn’t get rid of the musty smell. If all you want to do is get that smell out of your jeans, it’s best to hang them outside on a clothes line.

Wear
A wash every now and then is not an unnecessary luxury. People who want to take good care of their denim jeans and don’t wash it too often for that reason forget that dirt can also shorten the lifespan of your jeans. Grease, dirt and dead skin cells all accumulate in the fibers of your jeans. Just like washing, this also causes them to wear quicker.

Wash
So, how often should you be washing your jeans? Of course, this depends on how often you wear them. Do you not wear your pair of jeans very often? Then it’s fine to wash them once per three months. Do you wear your jeans a lot? Then they will benefit from a wash much quicker than that. When you’re in doubt about whether or not to throw your denim jeans in the washing machine, it’s probably time for a wash.
