Don’t throw away your banana peel from now on, but use it on your face instead!
You’ll have radiant skin and all thanks to a banana!
Banana
We don’t have to tell you that bananas are very healthy. One banana contains roughly 100 calories, which mainly consist of carbs, namely 20-25 grams. A banana also contains 1.2 grams protein, 0.2 grams fat and 0.4 grams fibres. Moreover, bananas are chock full of potassium, vitamin C, tryptophan, magnesium and selenium. All of this makes bananas an excellent addition to a healthy diet.
Healthy
Apart from all the vitamins and minerals that are good for you internally, bananas also contain substances that are good for your skin. Banana peel contains something called lutein, an antioxidant related to vitamin A, which is responsible for a natural UV filter, among other things. This substance is also beneficial when it comes to inflammations, and that means it can help against acne. As if all that wasn’t enough, the peel of a banana can also soothe red and irritated skin. People who suffer from acne or the occasional pimple can benefit greatly from rubbing a banana peel on their face.
