This is how you clean shoes made out of all kinds of different materials

Most people own multiple pairs of shoes. Especially women often have a closet full of shoes for all different kinds of occasions. Pumps for a party, boots for during winter and sneakers for a casual look with jeans. And all of these in different colours and materials. But how do you keep all of these in mint condition? With these tips, you’ll clean every type of shoe in no time at all!

Shoes of all different shapes, sizes and fabrics: this is how you’ll get them to look as good as new!

Fabric

Fabric shoes come in all kinds of different shapes: sandals, flats or pumps – it’s all possible. Shoes made out of fabric will always get dirty in the end, no matter their shape. But there’s no need to panic because all you need to clean them is a bit of dish soap, warm water, an old toothbrush and some paper towels. First of all, use a paper towel to wipe off the worst of the dirt and dust. Next, mix together a teaspoon of dish soap and two cups of warm water in a bowl. Dip the toothbrush in this mixture and use this to clean a little bit of the shoe each time. Don’t use too much water! After you’re done, use another paper towel to dry them (dab, don’t rub!) and let them air dry the rest of the way. Attention: never throw fabric shoes in the washing machine! Nearly all fabric shoes contain glue that can’t deal with so much water. The glue can loosen and that can cause your shoes to fall apart.
