Remove limescale and soap residue with these two ingredients from your kitchen

Leave limescale in the past

Oftentimes normal all-purpose cleaners lose the fight against limescale and soap residue. Especially when your shower hasn’t been cleaned in a while (we won’t judge), it can prove to be difficult to remove limescale from your tap and shower walls and doors. And that’s a shame, as it doesn’t look very attractive. You could buy expensive cleansers to get rid of limescale, but this mixture is much cheaper and you probably already have the ingredients in your kitchen cupboard.

We’ll never use anything else again.

Shower

Cleaning the shower isn’t our favourite pastime. The water and soap residue builds up and we just let it sit and sit. Before you know it, your shower is grimy and dirty. Once it has reached that state, it is quite difficult to clean. But, not impossible! With this DIY cleaning product your shower will be clean in no-time. You only need two cheap ingredients, so what are you waiting for?

Limescale

It depends on where you live, but hard water often leaves a residue of limescale on your showerhead, walls, doors and tap. Even if you clean regularly, the stains and other shower scum will leave a residue that can’t be wiped away with normal cleaner. It builds up, and before you know it your shiny tiles are matt and dirty. If you have a glass or glass-like shower door this will also start to look like matted glass instead of the shiny new glass you installed. What to do? Don’t run to the store for expensive cleaners, but just look in your kitchen cupboard.

You need:

  • 1 Part white vinegar (about 1 cup)
  • 1 Part dish soap (about 1 cup)
  • Funnel or measuring cup with a spout
  • Spray bottle
  • Sponge
