Coats, carpets and upholstery
For items that you can’t put into the washing machine very easily, you can use hairspray. Spray the hairspray onto the ink stain and rub it in using a soft cloth. Thanks to the hairspray you will be able to wipe away the ink stains just like that! For carpets, you can use WD-40 with great effect. Spray the solution onto the stain and dab it clean with an old cloth or a paper towel. Don’t own any of this stuff? Glass cleaner is said to work great as well!
Leather
Got an ink stain in an item made of leather? You’ll only be able to clean it if the leather has been treated. Test this by splashing a little bit of water onto it. Does the water soak into the leather? Then it’s not been treated and you won’t be able to remove any ink stains from it yourself. Does the water remain on the surface? Then the leather has been treated and you can clean it. You can use hairspray, nail polish remover without acetone or pure alcohol for this. Afterwards, treat the stain with grease or leather conditioner, because cleaning it might dry out the leather.
