Do you own a leather sofa, jacket or shoes? This trick can help making them look brand new again!

With these tips your leather products will be as good as new, and you won’t even need any expensive chemical cleaning products!

Your leather jacket: First and foremost; make sure you don’t leave your jacket lying around in the sun too often. This will make the leather change colour, which in turn will lead to you having to treat it more frequently. If your jacket is covered in dried rain splatters, you can easily remove them by simply rubbing the splatters against each other. To get rid off grease stains, you can use talcum powder. If you want to thoroughly clean your leather jacket, undiluted baby shampoo is the way to go.

Use green soap to clean your leather sofa. Make some soapy water using tepid water and add a cleaning cloth. Make sure the cloth isn’t too wet when you start to clean your sofa. Wring it out first! After lightly sponging the sofa with the soapy cloth, sponge it again with clean water and a bit of vinegar. If there’s got a stubborn stain somewhere, you can treat it with some undiluted green soap and a scouring sponge. Then, lightly sponge that particular spot again with a wet, tepid cloth. Finally, dry the sofa with an old towel.

You can also use sparkling water to clean your leather sofa. Use a spray bottle for plants with a nebuliser. Fill the bottle with sparkling water and spray your sofa with it. The carbonated acid in sparkling water will make sure that the dirt will come loose off the sofa, after which you can easily wipe it off with a clean towel.

Leather shoes: You can easily clean them with green soap. Rub the soap into the shoes using a sponge, and then rub it out well.
