This is how you clean a greasy oven door

Step-by-step

  • For the cleaning mixture, you mix together 300 grams of baking soda with 120 millilitres of water. Stir properly until the mixture becomes a thick paste. If needed, you can add a little more water or baking soda to make sure the mixture is thick enough: it shouldn’t spread when you apply it.
  • Moisten a soft cloth with hot water and use this to wipe away any easy-to-remove food scraps or dust.
  • Pull on rubber gloves and your hands to grab a generous lump of the cleaning paste. Spread the paste over the glass and make sure it doesn’t drip. Use circular motions to divide the paste properly. Apply bigger amounts of the paste to any especially dirty spots on the glass and lightly scrub these spots with a moist cloth. Let the paste sit for 15 minutes.
  • Scrape away any excess paste with a plastic spatula. Use a wet, soft cloth to rinse away the rest of the paste and then dry the glass with a clean, dry cloth.
  • Fill a spray bottle with distilled white vinegar. Spray vinegar onto the glass three or four times. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  • Wipe away the vinegar with a moist, soft sponge. You’ll see your oven door will shine like never before!
