Say goodbye to burnt pots and pans!
We’ve all been there at one point or another: you don’t pay attention to your food on the stove for only a second and you’re stuck with a stubborn, burnt layer on the bottom of the pot. It’s a bit embarrassing, but the most annoying part of it is that you have to clean the pot again.
Luckily, we’ve got a very easy trick for you today!
Accidents
Not everyone is a true master chef like Gordon Ramsey (although some of us do adopt his vocabulary while cooking). Accidents happen and it’s very easy to burn something, even if you think you’re paying close attention. Unfortunately, many of us have had to throw out burnt pots that were beyond saving at some point. Because once they’re dried up, those burn stains are pretty much impossible to get out again. Or are they? Not if you use this trick!
This is what you need
- baking soda
- cream of tartar
- hand soap
- an old credit card or rewards card
This is how to do it
Add equal amounts of baking soda and cream of tartar to the pot (for example; two tablespoons of each). Also add a few drops of hand soap and stir it all together. Then, add some hot water and stir until the mixture looks like a kind of thick paste. The burnt parts of the pot need to be completely covered! Let this sit and soak for a couple of minutes and then use the old credit card to scrape off the burn stains. Rinse the pot under some water and it’ll look as good as new again!
